Aleatico di Puglia

This DOC wine covers the entire regional territory.  It is a sweet tasting wine made from Aleatico grape (minimum 85%), with the possible addition of Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera and Primitivo.

It is necessary an aging for three years in order to obtain  the recognition as Reserve

Lizzano

This Doc wine represents the province of Taranto and it is produced in the following municipalities: Taranto, Lizzano and Faggiano.

The red version of this wine contains: Negroamaro (60-80%), Bombino Nero, Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Pinot Nero (maximum 40%), with possible addition of Malvasia Nera from Brindisi and/or Lecce (maximum 10%). 

No later than March 30 after the harvest this wine is available on the market. It may be considered young or Novello (when subjected to a grapes crushing). 

This is a whole meal wine, also present in the sparkling version.

There are also the following typologies: rosé, sparkling rosé, white, sparkling white, Negroamaro rosé, Negroamaro red and Malvasia nera.

Primitivo di Manduria
 

This wine contains only Primitivo grapes that have been grown in the following territories: Manduria and Sava, the municipalities of Erchie, Oria and Torre Santa Susanna; some municipalities on the eastern

side of the Ionic coast. 

Purplish red in colour with orange hues if aged, this wine is pleasant and harmonic to the palate.

Also present are the following typologies: natural sweet, sweet fortified, dry fortified.

Typical Regional Wine “Tarantino”

The “IGT Tarantino” denomination is reserved for the following wines; white and sparkling white wines, red and sparkling red wines, novello; rosé and sparklin rosé wine, Novello.

“IGT Tarantino” wines must be obtained from grapes that originate from different grape varieties that have already been authorized and recommended by the province of Taranto and that have berreis of their corresponding colour.  

“IGT Tarantino” rosé wines must be obtained from grapes that originate from different grape varieties (except Montepulciano and Ottavianello) that have already been recommended and authorized by the province of Taranto and that have black berries.

It is also possible to find grapes of some grape varieties whose berries are of similar colour and not aromatic and that have already been authorized and recommended by the provice of Taranto (maximum 15%). 

The denomination “Negroamaro” and “Malvasia nera” is reserved to grape varieties whose wine production contains: Negroamaro 70-80%, Malvasia nera 20-30%.

“IGT Tarantino” wines can be also produced in the sparkling version. (art.2 Disciplinare di produzione dei vini ad indicazione geografica tipica “Tarantino”).

The production area of grapes from which are obtained wines and musts with the “IGT Tarantino” denomination includes the entire territory of the province of Taranto.(art.3 Disciplinare di produzione dei vini ad indicazione geografica tipica “Tarantino”)  

 

Typical Regional Wine “Puglia”

The “IGT Puglia” designation is reserved for the following wines: white and sparkling white wine; red, Novello and sparkling red wine; rosé and sparkling rosé wine.

“IGT Puglia” white, red and rosé wines must be obtained from grapes that originate from a mixture of grape varieties; specifically from some grape varieties that have already been authorized and recommended by all provinces of Puglia (except Montepulciano and Ottavianello) and that have berries of their corresponding colour.

The “IGT Puglia” denomination refers to wines whose grapes originate from a mixture of grape varieties, with at least 85% of their corresponding grape variety: Aleatico, Aglianico, Bombino nero, Bombino bianco, Falanghina, Fiano, Greco, Malvasia bianca, Malvasia nera, Uva di Troia, Moscato bianco, Moscatello, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot bianco, Pinot nero, Riesling, Sauvignon, Primitivo, Negroamaro, Verdeca, Bianco d’Alessano, Pampanuto, Trebbiano, Sangiovese.

IGT Puglia wines can be also produced in the following versions: sparkling and Novello.(art.2, Disciplinare di produzione dei vini ad indicazione geografica tipica “Puglia”)

The production area of grapes whose wines and grape juice are recognized with the designation of “IGT Puglia” includes the following provinces: Bari, Brindisi, Foggia, Lecce and Taranto.(art.3, Disciplinare di produzione dei vini ad indicazione geografica tipica “Puglia”).

The “DOC Primitivo di Manduria dolce naturale” denomination is reserved for grape varieties characterized by the following composition: 100% Primitivo. (Disciplinare di produzione della denominazione di origine
